Manolo Castellano
I work as a career consultant specialized in PhDs and scientists and the recruitment of talent for R&D companies.
- Helping researchers and scientists to broaden their professional horizon
- Helping companies to recruit talent (headhunter/nethunter)
- I love research and development (R&D), networking, employability, entrepreneurship and innovation.
- I cannot live without communication, science activism and the construction and development of communities.
𝘛𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 – 𝘍𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 – 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 – 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯
I have always been a scientist and I will never stop being one.
I spent two rewarding decades as a researcher in USA and Spain, working in neurodegeneration, audition and diabetes (molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, electrophysiology). However, I felt I needed to contribute with something different to myself and to the world outside the lab.
Then I wondered where an academic researcher can work beyond academia. Nobody could help me.
What did I do? I started a radio program where I interviewed entrepreneurial researchers that had found their pathway beyond Academia. After dozens of interviews, I found the keys to make a professional transition and reinvented myself.
This is how «Carreras Científicas Alternativas» came to life, a platform for the community of researchers interested in non-academic professional careers.
And this is how a new professional was born, a scientst passionate about career guidance, professional reinvention adn employability, with a clear objective: helping other scientsts to expand their professional horizon.
Although some say that I am a sort of coach and manager for researchers, I prefer to be seen as someone who can help you redirect your career.
